Boston Public Schools offers a range of alternative schools and programs where students are able to earn a high school diploma. Four of the programs are considered in-district schools, Boston Adult Technical Academy, Boston Day and Evening Academy, Community Academy, and Greater Egleston. The other six programs are located in community-based organizations. At five of these programs, ABCD University High School, City Roots, EDCO Youth Alternative, El Centro del Cardenal, and YouthBuild Boston, students attend and complete classes in order to receive a high school diploma from the Boston Public Schools. Students at Notre Dame Education Center are able to earn a high school diploma from Cathedral High School.
